Day 55: And I'm Spent!

So it's the final day. As I was reminded yesterday, I didn't actually put up many stories about the dresses. Believe me though, each one has its story. Whether it's a costume for a movie or musical, an outfit for watching an amazing performance, or just a memorable night out with friends, they each make me smile when I see them. To tell you everything that happened in these dresses would practically be a novel in itself (perhaps this may be a decent idea if I actually got some time to sit and write again). As it stands, my dresses and I will have to remain a bit of a mystery. So here's the final count:

Day 54: Grad Dress Day

One day after today. All my fanciest dresses are done after today. I just wanted to thank everyone who donated and cheered me on along the way. I can't express enough how much this meant to me. I might have been able to do it without all of you but I wouldn't have wanted to. So here it is, grad dress day. I hope you all like my dress this morning. I put on some Michael Buble and danced around a bit. It's interesting how a piece of clothing can make you feel. This one just makes me feel like I'm in another world.

Day 53: Bridesmaid Dress Day

At the beginning of the challenge I might have cared that the camera wasn't lined up. Now, I could care less. Sorry but this is what you're stuck with. I'll do a better photo for my last two days! This dress was actually originally bought for a wedding rehearsal dinner over the summer however at the time I decided not to wear it at the last minute. Time for work!

Day 50: So Close!

I've had suggestions from people lately that I should do this again next year, advertise it better, and try to find a way to include other people. In all honesty, I'm tempted to do it. I mean, if I can still find a way to get the pies at the end that would be freaking phenomenal. Even if I don't though then this is still for a good cause. Next year I'll have to find something else to donate to. Wait and see I suppose! For now I'm off to school!

Day 49: The Next Day

I'm on my last week of wearing dresses to school! YAY! However this morning getting up only to throw on a dress was not ideal. I made a point of going for a walk around Gordon Head in it though despite it being annoyingly windy at times. That's okay. Good company definitely makes it better! However, I should now get back to doing some homework. It's 9:34 and I've hardly touched it. Sometimes it's fun when life gets in the way though! Oh and yes, I was waaay too lazy to retake the photo.

Day 48: Scrimmage-fest and Pubcrawl!

This photo is late getting up because yesterday pretty much consisted of being around water polo people and away from the computer ALL day! Scrimmage-fest went 100% fine. We had to improvise a bit with the out of bounds area but all-in-all it went amazingly well. I think next year we will definitely have to do a second round of it. By the end of the pubcrawl UBC and UVic had finally mixed! It took a lot of time and alcohol but it was made possible. This should definitely make next year all the more interesting.

Day 47: Blissfully Happy

I would like to officially announce that 1 week from today I'll be wearing my grad dress to work then to school immediately after. Don't expect fancy hair though. I don't think I'm capable of that even on the best of days. For now though you'll just have to wait it out. Tomorrow is scrimmage-fest, tonight is a party, life is good. Once again I woke up with a smile on my face.

Day 46: It's The Final Countdown!

9 days after today! WOOHOO! Now things will get interesting. I'm wearing a dress that I don't even normally wear out. I think I bought it over the summer when I would wear a bathing suit with it because it's definitely backless. That's what sweaters are there for though! Here's another picture!

Day 45: Happy St. Patrick's Day!!!

10 dresses to go and I managed to find a green one for today! SCORE! This was pure luck because I debated wearing this one already about 5 or 6 times. Good thing I didn't huh? Alright well I don't have much to say. I still can't find one of my dresses and I have no idea which one it it. This may prove troublesome next week but for now I'm just going with the flow. Day 37: Need. More. Sleep!

I was hanging out with my friend last night and at 12:12 he started saying "wow. It's 12 minutes past your bedtime." I laughed. It's true. I do NOT stay up late these days. How late did I end up staying awake? At least until 2:30. It was much closer to his bedtime than to mine by the end of the evening. Oh, and before you jump to conclusions, NO he was not over until then. He dropped me off at about 12:15. Why am I telling this story? Perhaps to bemoan about my lack of sleep. More so to complain about why I'm indicating day 36 for the second day in a row. I didn't realize this until I went to save the photo on my computer. Mep. Such is life. Frick. Anyways, I have a long day ahead of me (with no time for naps).

Day 32: A Sunny Dress For A Sunny Mood!

Good morning sunshine to whoever is reading! I woke up this morning with about 5 hours of sleep and had to finish a biomechanics lab. So, I got started on it and about an hour in (around 5 AM) I realized that I don't know how to do a chunk of it. Although this should greatly upset me for some reason I stayed calm and I just continued to be in a good mood. I've decided sleep is awesome. Now, although I still have a massive chunk of the lab to do, am still confused by part of it, and have 3 hours of class before my lab leaving about 3.5 hours to work on it if I make use of every minute, I am still in a good mood. I know that this isn't normal. Oh well! I like it while it lasts! Anyways I'm off to the library to try to finish this off!

Today I'm balancing work, water polo business, school, a social life, and finishing up a lab report. This semester I've really realized just how busy I allow myself to be. It's weird though because for as much as I would love to cut things out of my schedule I don't think I could decide if I wanted to. Day 30: Another Tuesday Morning

I love Tuesdays now. They give me an excuse to wear the dresses that aren't my favourites. Normally I have tennis starting at 2:30 but because I have class until then I get a 3 hour time slot of not wearing dresses. However, this dress I managed to alter a bit (bring it in and shorten it) so now I'm actually debating keeping it at the end of everything. Although, I really do need to take out my sewing machine again and finally figure out how to thread it. I did all the alterations to this by using strategically placed safety pins. NEVER underestimate a well-placed safety pin.
